Shivani Lala, a Team Leader of SCC’s Community Options Mental Health sites, was recently recognised at the 2019 WA Mental Health Awards Gala winning the Employee Excellence Award for outstanding contribution to mental health in Western Australia by an individual employed or volunteering within the sector.
The WA Mental Health Awards, which are hosted by the Western Australian Association for Mental Health (WAAMH), recognises and rewards the achievements of those who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and initiative in supporting consumers of mental health services, their families, and carers; and showcase best practice in Western Australia’s mental health sector to inspire others.
Vanessa Cullen, Consumer Consultant with SCC’s Mental Health team, was also nominated for the Consumer Impact Inspiration Award, which recognises the outstanding contribution to mental health in Western Australia by an individual who identifies as having a lived experience. Tania Payne, SCC’s Manager for Mental Health and Disability said the award was fantastic recognition for Shivani and the wider SCC Mental health team.
“This award is well deserved recognition for the work that Shivani does within our mental health programs. The award also raises awareness of the great work that Southern Cross Care is doing in the mental health space and the high calibre of our mental health team.”
