His experience spans various industries including disability services, health, aged care, insurance, property and corporate governance. Tony is also currently Deputy Chair of Therapy Focus Ltd and a Member of Carers Advisory Council (WA).

Elaine is a Registered Nurse and Midwife. She has experience in executive-level roles and academic positions within the healthcare sector. She recently retired as the Dean of the School of Nursing & Midwifery at the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle. She is a qualified coach and works with nurse managers. She is a sitting member of the State Administrative Tribunal, a member of the College of Nursing Australia and Chair of Child Australia.

Denise is a non-executive director with over 20 years clinical experience in the healthcare sector. As a practising geriatrician, Denise is committed to improving the healthcare for older adults in WA. She has led and been a senior member of Multidisciplinary Health Care Teams and Aged Care Assessment Teams (ACAT) and has a thorough understanding of the processes, requirements and care needs of adults accessing residential aged care facilities and community aged care services.

Denise is Deputy Chair of the East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) Board and Chair of the Safety and Quality Committee.  She established and continues to lead the first Orthogeriatric Service in Western Australia which stands as one of the top performing Orthogeriatric Units in Australia and New Zealand.

Clare Grieveson leads the Group’s executive team to deliver the organisation’s vision, mission and values. Clare commenced as Chief Executive Officer at SCC (WA) in November 2021.

Clare has more than 25 years as an experienced senior executive in the health and aged care sectors in both the United Kingdom and Australia. She has worked in senior management roles at Monash Health in Melbourne and the Victorian Department of Health. Clare is a Board Member of Assisi Aged Care in Victoria. Before her appointment at SCC, Clare held the role of Executive Director Quality, Safety, and Innovation at Mercy Health.

Clare has had a close involvement in advisory roles with government on policy issues and changes currently affecting the aged care sector. With a passion for working closely with consumers and health businesses, she was part of the leadership team that developed innovative healthy ageing service offerings at Mercy Health.

Clare has a clinical background in speech pathology and holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Speech Sciences from University College London. She also holds a masters degree in Health Services Management from Monash University and has a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Catholic Culture from Australian Catholic University. Clare is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Clinical Governance.

Janelle McFarlane is responsible for the operational and strategic oversight of Residential Aged Care. She is also the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, deputising and supporting the CEO with a number of strategic initiatives. Janelle commenced with SCC (WA) in September 2022.

Janelle started her leadership career in acute health care at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Mercy Werribee Hospital. After relocating to Western Australia, she joined Mercy Health’s aged care team as a Facility Manager and held Regional Manager roles across WA, QLD and NSW. 

Janelle has spent the last three years at Hall and Prior where she held the role of Executive Director Regional Leader. Janelle has extensive experience leading strategic, operational and revenue improvements, establishing and leading operational and clinical governance models and implementing new services.

Janelle holds a Bachelor of Nursing, a Master of Nursing, and is a Registered Nurse. She was awarded a fellowship at the Joanna Briggs Institute and holds memberships of the Australasian College of Infection Prevention and Control, the International Federation of Ageing, and the Australian institute of Company Directors.

Bret Campbell is responsible for leading SCC (WA)’s Corporate Services Division.  He oversees the organisation’s financial reporting, systems and performance, emergency management, crisis response, business continuity, information and communications technology, risk and procurement functions. Bret commenced as Chief Financial Officer in November 2021.

Bret has over 18 years’ experience as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in aged care, the community sector and retirement living. Prior to joining SCC, Bret held the position of CFO at the Brightwater Care Group. He has previously held the roles of Executive Director Business Services and Systems at MercyCare, CFO at St Ives Group and executive roles leading teams in finance, IT services, procurement, risk, strategic planning, health information and business analytics. 

Bret holds a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University, is a qualified Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Caroline is the Chief Experience Officer at SCC (WA) where she is responsible for leading the brand, marketing, communications, client experience and media functions. Caroline commenced in this role in May 2022.

Most recently, before joining SCC (WA), Caroline was the Chief Operating Officer at Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation and has worked in senior marketing roles at other large organisations including HBF, Alinta Gas, Silver Chain and Australia Post. Her experience lies in organisational strategy, brand health, media, marketing and communication and employee culture and engagement.

Caroline holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from Curtin University, Bachelor of Psychology from Edith Cowan University and a Diploma of Management from the Australian Institute of Management.

Ian Nichol is responsible for the property portfolio and developments that support the provision of services at SCC (WA). Ian commenced as Chief Property Officer in July 2022.

Ian has over 25 years’ experience holding Executive, General Manager, Project Director and Executive Leadership team member roles across a variety of sectors including property developments, infrastructure, civil infrastructure and resource works, in Australia, Africa, Asia and the UK.

Prior to joining SCC (WA) Ian worked with BGC Housing Group where he held the role of Group General Manager- Construction.  He has previously worked for National Lifestyle Villages as Group Development Manager where he was a member of the Executive Leadership Team, accountable for implementing and delivering on the strategic plans of the business.

Ian has a masters degree in Business Administration from La Trobe University majoring in Business and Project Management. He is a Chartered Building Professional and a member of the Australian Institute of Building, as well as a Certified Practicing Project Director issued by the Australian Institute of Project Management. Ian is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Andries Pretorius is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of services across Home Care, Disability and Mental Health at SCC (WA). Andries commenced as Chief Operating Officer – Home Care, Disability and Mental Health in June 2022.

Andries has extensive experience in the aged, disability and community care sectors, most recently as Head of NDIS and Mental Health at Southern Cross Care WA – a position he has held since 2021.

Prior to joining SCC (WA), Andries was Group Manager Strategic Relationships at Chorus Australia and held executive roles at Community First International, Workskil Australia and Toop&Toop Real Estate Group.

Andries has a bachelor degree from Stellenbosch University majoring in business management, industrial psychology and computer information systems, with honours in industrial psychology. He has held several Board and Committee roles.

Angela North commenced as Chief People, Learning & Culture Officer in May 2022. Her team is responsible for attracting, recruiting and developing top talent, employee benefits and experiences, work health and safety, learning and development and culture strategy.

Angela has held numerous senior roles in HR, including Head of People & Transformation at HBF where she was accountable for strategic workforce planning, rewards and benefits, future organisational design and change leadership. She has also held a group level HR executive role at Silver Chain where she designed clinical and non-clinical workforce strategies, recruitment and leadership strategies. Prior to joining SCC (WA) Angela led several large-scale change management programs at Woodside Energy.

Angela has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Greenwich University, London and holds accreditations in change management, project management, leadership development tools and psychometric assessments. Angela is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development in the United Kingdom.

Kate is the General Counsel and Company Secretary at Southern Cross Care (WA) (SCC (WA)), where she is responsible for supporting the Board, implementing and maintaining best governance practices, and delivering legal services.

Most recently, before joining SCC (WA), Kate was the General Counsel and Company Secretary for Telethon Kids Institute and is a Board Member of Parkinson’s WA. Kate has extensive legal and governance experience across the not-for-profit and public sectors, where she was responsible for the provision of strategic and commercially focused risk and compliance advice and in-house legal services.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism and Psychology) and Bachelor of Laws from Deakin University and was admitted as an Australian lawyer in 2005.  Kate is also a Fellow of both the Governance Institute of Australia and the Institute of Chartered Governance Institute.
