Benefits of respite care

Respite care has many benefits for both carers and the individual they care for. It can help give individuals and their carers time apart, to do things independently and can be accessed for a few hours, a few days, or longer – depending on needs/eligibility.

Our respite services are available in home, out in the community, or in an aged care home.

A temporary stay in a residential aged care home or overnight/day respite in our centre-based respite facilities can enhance opportunities for individuals to socialise with others. It also supports their carer by giving them a break to prioritise their own health and wellbeing.

Excellence in care

When staying in residential care, respite residents are treated to the same high standards of service as our permanent residents and are encouraged to engage in our social and activities calendar. Residential respite care can be accessed up to 63 days each financial year.

For those seeking short-term overnight cottage respite, carers can have peace of mind knowing their loved one is being cared for in a safe environment with 24-hour staffing and support.

While in-home respite care means carers can take a break knowing their loved one will be cared for and supported in the comfort of their own home.
