The amount individuals may need to pay depends on the services they access and, in some cases, their financial situation.
Home care is funded through a Government subsidy. The government contribution, which is updated annually on 1 July, is paid directly to the home care provider and individuals work in partnership with their provider to determine the care and services they can access within their package budget.
The amount individuals may need to pay depends on the services they access and, in some cases, their financial situation. Any fees and eligibility for subsidies will be discussed and agreed upon with Southern Plus before individual’s start to receive services.
There are four levels of Government-funded Home Care Packages (HCP) to meet people’s varying needs for support with Level 1 packages supporting people with basic care needs through to Level 4, which supports people with high-level care needs. The HCP funding individuals receive is based on their ACAT assessment, which determines what level package they are eligible for.
