Dementia Action Week runs from 21–27 September 2026, with the theme “It’s time to talk about dementia,” focusing on reducing stigma, encouraging open conversations, and supporting the nearly 446,500 Australians living with dementia.

Alzheimer’s Action Day is a dedicated day to raise awareness, support research and encourage action against Alzheimer’s disease. One of our Margaret Hubery House residents, Lidia, is living with Alzheimer’s.  

For Lidia and those closest to her, the day is a chance to share a more personal story about the importance of connection, friendship and seeing the whole person.
