Mental Health Week is a national celebration in October each year, from 4 to 11 October. The theme for this year is ‘Empowering Communities, Thriving Workforces’, which is all about having the power to take charge of your own mental health journey and recovery, to find purpose and connection through meaningful employment, and to support others within your community to stay mentally healthy.
At Southern Cross Care WA (SCCWA), we know that mental health is deeply personal, and that the right support can make a real difference. Our services are designed to help people find purpose, connection and hope, offering a broad range of supports for adults aged between 18 and 65 who have a diagnosed mental illness or are experiencing mental health concerns.
During Mental Health Week, we are hosting a Mental Health Week Community Day from 10.00am to 1.00pm on Thursday 9 October at Rivervale Community Centre. Hosted by our team, the event will feature lawn games, interactive mindfulness sessions, tasty treats and a photo booth.
Whether you’re seeking support, looking to learn more, or want to show your support for mental health awareness, you are welcome to join us at our event.
Be sure to follow along on social media to learn more about our mental health services and get highlights from the events.
