Catering for up to 22 residents, Victoria Park Nursing Home features bright and cheerful rooms and is made up of three houses providing 24-hour care to all residents. It is co-located with Victoria Park Hostel, providing aged care accommodation and short-term respite accommodation options for up to 29 residents.

Amenities and Services
Residents have access to a library and hairdressing salon along with a unique onsite chapel which features a striking stained-glass mural. The peaceful onsite chapel provides a place for quiet reflection or residents can attend the regular mass services.
In the kitchen, our experienced chefs take great pride in preparing fresh, nutritionally balanced meals with a range of options. Our menus are reviewed for summer and winter dining, with residents encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions to help build menus that are appealing to them.

Our Dementia Specialist team assess, review and provide individual support and work closely with family members and staff to develop a dementia care plan. The plan is tailored to the residents individual needs, to ensure they are comfortable, safe and happy in their surroundings.

Our History
The land where Victoria Park Nursing Home now stands was originally a community park given the name Victoria Park in 1898 in memory of Queen Victoria.
In 1968 the Victoria Park Aged Care Home was opened to the public by the Little Sisters of the Poor. The home was upgraded in 1997 and Southern Cross Care took ownership in 2009.

Classic Room
Our bright and spacious single bedrooms are approximately 18m² size and include an ensuite and electric high/low bed. Bedrooms have individually controlled reverse cycle air conditioning. Large sliding doors provide direct access to the shared courtyard and landscaped gardens. The rooms are closely located to the communal areas and the nurses’ station.

Classic Room
These rooms are 12-14m² in size and include an ensuite, appropriate furniture and personal storage areas. Some rooms have individually controlled reverse cycle air conditioning. All bedrooms have large windows that overlook the landscaped garden areas and are in close proximity to all the communal areas and the carers’ station.

Residents can choose to pay for their accommodation by a refundable deposit, a daily payment or a combination of both. A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum amount. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly. A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.
