Bunnings Cockburn recently visited Frank Prendergast House in Success for a gardening activity. The visit was combined with the monthly visit from students of Mater Christi Primary School, Yangebup.
Gardening is a favourite activity of our residents who in the past have planted a vegetable patch, which they maintain meticulously. The residents enjoyed the digging and planting along with the friendly banter with the children.
The quarterly visit by Bunnings to our residential care home provides an opportunity for social interaction among the residents and encourages them to increase their physical activity. Additionally, having the primary school children visit on the same day also made it more fun for everyone.
