In 2008, SCC became the first organisation to register as a Growth Provider with the Department of Housing WA. This status recognises SCC's commitment to providing low cost housing options for seniors in Western Australia. As part of this process Southern Cross Housing Ltd (SCH) was formed.
Southern Cross Housing Ltd is a not-for-profit Community Housing provider. Our housing portfolio offers supportive housing for seniors, people with disabilities and individuals with a persistent mental health disorder.
Our goal is to help tenants find a stable home and live a better quality of life. We believe that delivering quality, safe and affordable housing and ongoing stable rental agreements is essential to our tenants knowing that they are valued members of the community and part of the Southern Cross family.
We proudly support 520 tenants who have met the Department of Communities Housing eligibility criteria for affordable living. As a designated Growth Provider, the Southern Cross Housing Team manages 360 dwellings which consists of 254 owned assets, and a further 106 managed properties which belong to the Department of Communities, 42 of these are managed on behalf of the City of Belmont.
Our Southern Cross Housing Team have a good relationship with their tenants and support them to manage their tenancies responsibly, helping them to enjoy long-term, stable housing solutions.
