Volunteering is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. At Southern Cross Care, the act of giving your time to support our residents or clients makes the world of difference. Through providing companionship, driving one of our buses, supporting our resident programs, or other activities you will make an immediate and lasting impression.
Southern Cross Care volunteers come from all walks of life – from retirees with a passion for enriching the lives of older people, to people who cared for a family member, to teenagers who want to do something meaningful with their free time. But they have one thing in common – the positive feelings they get from making a difference to someone else’s life.
Why Volunteer?
Our volunteers often don’t realise how much they get back from their experience. While it often is through getting a positive feeling that comes from making a difference, there are many other benefits including:
- Making new friends
- Developing new skills
- Contributing to the local community
- Learning from our elders
- Having fun
