Progressive proposal may enable seniors to contribute to costs while keeping homes

CITY of Cockburn seniors could soon be able to contribute to their aged care and accommodation costs without having to sell their homes, after a Productivity Commission report provided recommendations for an overhaul and simplification of the aged care system.
Southern Cross Care’s Villa Pelletier facility has turned 40. Located in a highly sort after position in West Leederville - Villa Pelletier was originally owned and operated by the Sisters of Good Shepherd providing accommodation for elderly women and women in need.
Celebrations took place yesterday at Villa Pelletier with over 100 guests attending. A special mention was made for Ada Furby who celebrated her 108th birthday this year. Ada has been at the facility for the full 40 years.
Southern Cross Care is pleased to acknowledge the invaluable support it receives from Lotterywest.
Over many years Lotterywest has assisted Southern Cross Care to achieve its purpose of enhancing the quality of life of those who its services.
