Our Mission, Vision and Values

Our Vision: Excellence in care, support and accommodation.

Our Purpose: To enhance the quality of life of those who use our services.

Our Mission: Compassionate, just and equitable service delivery which reflects the moral and ethical principles of the Catholic Church.

Our Values:

Respect for the Individual
We allow our residents and clients the freedom to be themselves in the environment of Southern Cross Care. Focusing on their life experiences by adopting an individual, holistic model of care to attend to their physical, spiritual, social and cultural needs. We believe individuals should be valued for themselves, and never simply as an economic unit in the budgets.

Compassion
To foster throughout our Organisation an understanding and commitment to the values of compassionate and loving care. Our courtesy and consideration for, and empathy with, those we serve, accepting them as they are and being sensitive to their needs. Which we feel is tangible evidence of these values.

Dignity
Each individual has an intrinsic value, an inalienable right to life, and a right to essential comprehensive health care. We respect the privacy of the individual and seek to optimise this in the most attainable way. We will be guided by the directives of “The Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia”.

Integrity
To promote an honest, prudent and accountable approach to all our activities, and in the stewardship of our resources in all respects. Our resources must be utilised in the most effective way for those in our care. We appreciate that our requirements must be balanced alongside the requirements needed for other essential human services serving the common good of all the community.

Excellence
To provide an optimum standard of just and equitable care and community services within the scope of available resources, and to foster a spirit of continuous improvement in all our activities.

Professionalism
To provide a competent and committed caring team, utilising modern, sound techniques with respect for the wishes and needs of those we serve.

Teamwork
We work together to meet our core values by recognising the needs of those we serve, are best understood and satisfied by those closest to them. So we value the role of the individual, the staff, the families, and carers in achieving the optimum result for each individual we serve.
